My work is inspired by nature, my children and my Scandinavian roots.
I love to work large, creating all encompassing visual dramas through color and shape. I also create fashions which animate our surroundings or become extensions from a wall piece or projection.
I work with textiles. Most of my work is hand painted using stencils. Playing with paper, shapes, color and the repetition of these elements charge my work. Recently, I have been screen printing as well.
I received my BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. My work is in many public and private collections including the Tweed Museum of Art, The City of Duluth, Children's Museum of Duluth and The Konstal in Vaxjo Sweden. My work has been exhibited in Bergen Norway, Vaxjo Sweden, Polarmo, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Minneapolis and Duluth. I am the recipient of a Jerome Travel grant, ARAC Fellowship and a Finlandia Foundation grant.
